# Asset Point of Interest General Import

## Overview <a href="#overview" id="overview"></a>

You can add or update points of interest (specific locations that have a particular purpose for people, for example tourist attractions, cultural sites, commercial premises and parks) in bulk using the Asset Point of Interest General Import option.

Points of Interest may be exported from an existing data in your organisation (such as a your Geographical Information System). When exporting and importing to avoid the import failing, make sure to plan the correct field mappings.

## Import File <a href="#instructions" id="instructions"></a>

The supported import file is a ZIP containing SHP and TAB files. You cannot upload a SHP or TAB file directly into the Import File field, it must be contained within a ZIP file with its associated files.

Refer to the Import Field Mappings section in the [Import Instructions](/system-administration/configuring-the-system/imports.md#import-instructions) section for the latest import file requirements.

## Import Process <a href="#instructions" id="instructions"></a>

To import Infrastructure:

1. Refer to the general instructions in [Imports](/system-administration/configuring-the-system/imports.md).
2. In the General section select **Type**: *Assets*
3. For **Parsing Rule:** select *Asset Point of Interest General Import*
4. Under **Import File:** use the **Add file** button to upload your import file
5. Save and Check Results
