Assessments (FRV)

This page explains how to use the Assets (FRV) Import option for Victorian councils.

Overview

Assessments including Initial Impact Assessments from Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), must be imported separately from the Assessments (General) import option.

Contact the Service Desk for the most current advice for working with FRV data.

Please only use Assessments (FRV 2026) this is the latest version at time of writing. Older importers may have different schemas for importing legacy data.

FRV Initial Impact Assessment (IIA) data can be downloaded from the EM Impact Dashboard https://emimpact.em.vic.gov.auarrow-up-right.

Important Considerations

Please consider the following important notes when working with FRV data:

  • Use the Register Item to select is "Assessments (FRV 2026)". This is for all FRV data imported after 2026.

  • Only import your own council's data (it is often mixed with other councils - you may need to filter or remove records relating to other councils)

  • Photo URLs from FRV expire in 24 hours, so it is very important to check the image links are still working before importing

  • Omit status of Hazard/Safety (these should be for Infrastructure assessment only)

  • Omit status of No Damage / Habitable

  • Omit addresses that don't have a street number

  • Inspections and re-inspections are supplied by FRV in the same file. These need to be imported in two batches: 1. Import on Address text (for new FRV Inspections) 2. Update only based on external ID (FRV record ID)

  • The data has no way to identify re-inspections, so this is an involved process

EXCEL NOTE: The FRV address data has a non-standard Unicode character for “-” (used in ranges like 35-45), which excel has issues with. If you edit the data, you will need to look for weird characters like “â€" and re-enter the “-” character.

Refer to the register page for general instructions:
