# Assessments (General)

## Overview <a href="#overview" id="overview"></a>

You can add/or update [Assessments](broken://pages/0Cl1Wd56OaRXyYpTkPKd) in bulk using the Assessments (General) import option.

Assessments typically come from an external source of property damage and hazard reports, such as an agency. To obtain a working import file the external agency should be advised on the correct field mappings.

{% hint style="info" %}
Some agencies may have their own specific import file and parsing rule. Check with the agency for the preferred method, it may be a different parsing rule this general one.
{% endhint %}

Refer to the register page for general instructions:

[Imports](/system-administration/configuring-the-system/imports.md)
{% endcontent-ref %}

## Import File <a href="#instructions" id="instructions"></a>

A CSV format file is required with the correct field mappings.

Refer to the Import Field Mappings section in the [Import Instructions](/system-administration/configuring-the-system/imports.md#import-instructions) section for the latest import file requirements.

To import the file:

1. Refer to the general instructions in [Imports](/system-administration/configuring-the-system/imports.md).
2. In the General section select **Type**: *Register Items*
3. For **Parsing Rule:** select *Assessments (General)*
4. Under **Import File:** use the **Add file** button
5. Save and Check Results

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/system-administration/configuring-the-system/imports/register-items/assessments-general.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
