# Inspections

## Overview

The Inspections module is used primarily for compliance and prevention phase of the emergency management lifecycle. 

In addition to streamlined field reporting, Inspections supports the ability for contractor and sub-contractor task delegation and management.

Inspectors, Field Officers and Assessors can use the mobile app to capture information from the field.

Elements of the compliance solution include:

* Crisisworks Mobile app (for field reporting) including:
  * Inspection/Field Reporting functions
  * Online and Offline (synch) modes&#x20;
  * Route tracker&#x20;
* Crisisworks Cloud including:
  * Inspections Module
  * Compliance registers
  * Correspondence and Mail Merge functions
* Import&#x20;
  * Assets (include your own property data from your council system)
  * Asset Contacts (secure access to owner information for sending notices to property owners)
* Export system&#x20;
  * Manual - for mail merging etc
  * Automated - via the secure Crisisworks API for integration with other systems

Each [register](#registers) in this module has its own list of positions. Refer to the relevant register for its list of compatible positions.

### Access

Access to the module and certain registers is limited to positions working with inspections.&#x20;

To access *Inspections:*

2. In the [Modules Menu](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/concepts-and-fundamentals/on-a-computer/navigation#modules-menu) select *Inspections*

## Registers

Access to each of the listed registers is based on your system's configuration and license.&#x20;
