Service Provider

This page outlines use of the Service Provider Resource type.

Overview

Service Providers are Resources that are organisations, people or services that assist with providing services. They can also be assigned tasks. These can be contractors, websites or government agencies.

You can find, add and edit Service Providers via the Resources register.

Finding Service Providers

Adding Service Providers

Service Providers are added in Operations → Resources by setting the Resource Type to Service Provider when adding a new Resource.

Make sure the Resource Type is set to Equipment.

Settings

Resource Particulars

Refer to Resource Particulars

The Resource Particulars section defines general settings for the Equipment.

It contains many shared fields but also has different settings to other types including the Title, general Category & Sub-Categories, Details and Attachments.

Equipment Particulars

The following sections explain how to use the Equipment-specific settings. These are generally similar to other types of resources in that you set a Unit Name, Unit Rate, Unit Prefix and Unit Suffix. In addition, Equipment may have identifying information such as Model Number, Serial Number or Product Type.

Unit Name

Refer to: Resources Units

Some examples for Equipment include:

  • 'Each' is a general type of unit

  • 'Hours' for equipment that is billed for example by the hour or day (the unit suffix in this case would also be hours, days etc)

  • etc

Model Number

This setting optionally records a model number if known.

Serial Number

This setting optionally records a serial number if known.

Product Type

This setting optionally records a product type, such as a brand.

Location

A Location section is shown but not currently available for use with Equipment.
