# Offer

## Overview

An **Offer** is a Resource type used to record in-kind assistance and humanitarian aid.\
This includes offers such as donations, goods, services and accommodation.

You can [find](#finding-offers), [add](#adding-offers) and [edit](#offer-settings) Offers via the Resources register.

For Volunteer offers, use instead the [Volunteer](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/modules/operations/resources/volunteer) type.

For register-level instructions, refer to:

## Public Offers form

Offers have an optional public form so community members submit Offers themselves, optionally generate a QR code for the URL and share the public link on your website and comms. Both genric Offers and [Volunteer](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/modules/operations/resources/volunteer) Offers share the same public form, though additional sections are required to be filled out by Volunteers depending on which [Categories and Sub-Categories](#category-and-sub-categories) are selected.

Offers submitted to the public begin with a [Status](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/modules/operations/resources/..#status) of *Pending*.

Refer to:

* [Managing Events: Public Forms](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/system-administration/managing-events#public-forms)
* [System Text](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/library/system-text#system-text) (for configuring public form help text)

## Finding Offers

Ways to find Offers:

1. Type column in the datagrid (Offer)
2. Types > Offer in the filter menu
3. Query in Search `itemSchemaName:offer`

## Adding Offers

Offers are created through one of two ways:

* Via the [Public Offers Form](#public-offers-form) if enabled (an administrator can add the Offer form to the Event) - items added this way will start with a [Status](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/modules/operations/resources/..#status) of *Pending*.
* By a user via **Operations → Resources** by setting the [Resource Type](https://docs.cw.crisisworks.com/modules/operations/resources/..#resource-type) to *Offer* when adding a new resource. Once set the Resource Type cannot be changed.

## Offer Settings

The Offer Particulars section defines the specifics of the Offer type.

It contains many shared fields but also has different settings to other types. The following sections explain how to use the Offer-specific settings.
