Briefing or Handover

This page explains how to use the settings in the Briefing or Handover type which is used to record notes for coordinators and team members.

Overview

The Briefing or Handover Information item is used for recording notes in SMEACSQ format that contain critical information to be conveyed to personnel.

To configure an Briefing or Handover item, you must add or edit an Information item via the Information register and select the Briefing or Handover Type.

Unlock the Briefing or Handover settings by setting the Information's Type under General

Settings

Briefing or Handover items must include a Subject. This is used to identify it in lists and to give other personnel a summary of what it is about.

Use the following rich text fields used to record critical information for staff in SMEACSQ format:

  • Situation - what is happening and what our organisation is doing. Files can be uploaded using the Situation Attachments field

  • Mission - a clear statement of the team's objectives

  • Execution - tasks and how they will be executed

  • Administration & Logistics - locations, workforce resourcing (catering, transport, technology, etc). Other registers may hold key information for this, such as Resources and Contacts.

  • Command & Communications - relevant details of team structure including relationships with other departments

  • Safety - considerations for each location staff are working in as well as any warnings from the Control Agency. Outline known or potential hazards. List safety equipment and PPE. Debrief information (welfare). First Aid.

  • Questions - Record questions asked by the briefing recipients.

Make sure to Save your item once you've finished to effect your changes.
