Mobile App

The mobile app works with modern Apple iOS and Android devices, both phone and tablet, for use in the field.

Overview

The mobile app (Crisisworks Mobile) works with modern Apple iOS and Android devices, both phone and tablet, for use in the field.

The version at the time of writing is 5.18.

The system is designed mobile-first which means that it is designed to work as well with small screens as large screens. It also means that you don't need to use the mobile app to access the majority of the system functionality.

Features of the app include:

  • Familiar functionality to the web version

  • Simple interface for easy use in the field, particularly for inspects

  • Easy touch and multi-touch controls

  • Use of the device's camera and gallery to capture video

  • Watermarking photos for evidence with date and location. To enable photo watermarks, your system must be configured for this a per register basis. Contact helpdesk to enable this feature.

  • Offline functionality, including downloading asset database, forcing offline mode and saving items for offline use. Offline functionality greatly assists inspections in areas with poor or no mobile data coverage.

No special positions are required for the mobile app, however custom functionality is based on the modules and registers enabled for your organisation. Your organisation may also have a tailored version of the app supporting functions such as Mobile Device Management (MDM) and Single Sign On (SSO) - check with your System Administrator.

For power use, such as coordination and administration it is recommended to use the web interface.

Access

Browser and device support

The app is free to download. Please consult the listings on the app stores for the latest device compatibility and other recommendations.

If your organisation has a custom implementation of the app or mobile device management (MDM) for additional security you will need to ask your System Administrator for access.

You will need to install and link the app to your cloud server in order to use it.

Please note that not all devices and operating systems are supported.

App Permissions

Crisisworks Mobile requires permissions including Location, Personal information (for your login), Audio, Camera and Video.

These should be set on installation and a connect request will be made upon initiating the app.

However they may be changed at some stage so it is advisable to check them if you run into any issues later.

The system features a mobile, responsive first design that works well with smaller screens.

In phone mode, the screen can be viewed either portrait or landscape. In tablet mode, it must be used in landscape mode.

To access the Settings and other menus, you can use the industry standard ‘hamburger’ icon at the top left of the screen.

Registers you are able to access with your position(s) are listed underneath each menu, they are indicated with a down arrow symbol.

After signing in, you will be presented with a list of Active events.

Once an event is selected, you will be able select a duty. Unlike the cloud, you will need to select one duty at a time.
